We are pleased to announce a new milestone in our cooperation with the Ukrainian Nuclear Society (Українське Ядерне Товариство) to support women’s development in the nuclear field
Established in 1993, UkrNS has over 3,000 members, making it the largest sectoral public organization in Ukraine. Its primary focus is on promoting the safe and sustainable use of nuclear technologies and supporting the professional development of scientists and specialists in this field.
The Black Sea Women in Nuclear Network (BSWN) and the Ukrainian Nuclear Society signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in early December 2024.
This significant agreement aims to advance nuclear safety, security, and radiation protection while promoting gender equality and enhancing the potential of both women and men through specialized education and training.
Key objectives of the MOU include:
- Promoting Gender Equality: The parties are committed to increasing women’s participation in the nuclear industry, including areas such as nuclear energy, radiation safety, and nuclear security.
- Professional Development: Initiatives will be developed to foster women’s professional growth, including mentoring and training programs.
- Public Awareness: The partnership will organize events to raise awareness of women’s roles in nuclear energy.
- Youth Engagement: The parties will work together to attract young people to the nuclear sector, providing training and promoting career opportunities.
We look forward to the positive impact this partnership will have on the nuclear field and women’s development within it.
